Known mostly for owning the Maniara Shopping Mall, Roberto Santiago had no idea that one day he would go into business. He was passionate about writing and never dreamt of entrepreneurship. In fact, he says that business is something that came to his mind when he was a bit old. He had no knowledge of it, and so he had to go back to school at a rather late age.
Roberto was born to average parents, who could not give him a silver spoon at birth. Consequently, he had to utilize his artistic skills to make it in life. Initially, he began by writing children literature; Roberto was very passionate about it that he earned a lot of respect from parents and teachers. Kids also loved him and they looked forward to new publications of their favorite cartoon characters. As time progressed, Roberto started writing play scripts and directing films. He was unquestionably talented in the artistic field, causing people to follow him naturally. Additionally, Roberto was a blogger, who wrote mainly inspirational messages. In an age where people were beaten down by many cares, his message of hope was well received by many. Consequently, Roberto became very popular in Brazil and outside since the social media is international and does not limit one to a geographical zone. Roberto says that he mainly based his writings on his personal experiences as he had faced many failures and decided to rise above them.
The success of the blogs led Roberto to desire to invest his income. However, he feared to invest without any background knowledge in business. Consequently, Roberto enrolled in Pio Marxist College before he joined the University Center in Joao Pessoa where he studied Bachelor of Business Administration. While he was still in College, Roberto started Café Santa Rosa, where he sold healthy foods to the people of Brazil. As is his norm, Roberto gave the best services to the people, and he gained a large clientele. Within no time, he saved enough money and opened a cartonnage company that dealt with the sale of cardboards and other such products. Roberto says that the cartonnage company did so well and turned his life around. The savings from the business were enough to buy the huge piece of land on which the Maniara Shopping Mall is located.
After two years of buying the land, Roberto built and launched the Maniara Shopping Mall, which is rated as the biggest and most modern mall in Brazil. Roberto vision was to offer all goods under one roof. At the same time, he wanted to provide a different experience for the people by giving them a heaven experience on earth. As such, he ensured that fun was provided by every outlet in the mall.
